LONDON: New figures have been released by the Fairtrade Foundation showing that United Kingdom consumers are becoming increasingly aware of its brand.
It has been claimed that 70 percent of Britons recognise the Fairtrade mark, compared with 57 percent at the same time last year.
Also, one in four Brits regularly purchase Fairtrade products, with the brand increasingly being heavily associated with broader ‘sustainable development’ goals.
Meanwhile, the National Farmers Union Farming Outlook report recently revealed that consumer demand for organic products in the UK is outstripping supply.
