TAIPEI: The New Zealand Trade Development Centre (NZTDC) in Taipei has partnered with both Jasons Marketplace and Tourism New Zealand to develop a high profile food and beverage promotion in Taiwan.
The June promotion was held every weekend and was supported by eye-catching signs and included in-store samplings in the six Jasons stores throughout Taiwan. It was supported by importers of New Zealand products.
A press conference to launch the promotion at the beginning of the month focused on New Zealand’s reputation for high quality healthy food, appealing to the Taiwanese interest in health and wellness.
It also promoted a competition where Jasons customers who bought two New Zealand products during June were eligible to enter a draw for a return trip to New Zealand.
A New Zealand wine tasting event was also held in June and included invitations to Jasons Wine Club members.
Both Jasons and New Zealand food and beverage importers involved in the project reported increased sales as a result of the promotion.
In June, Jasons reported that New Zealand food and beverage products sales were up 57 percent on last year and 36 percent on May.
The New Zealand Wine Tasting Party was part of NZTDC’s joint promotion with Jasons.
It involved eight New Zealand wine importers who presented 23 high quality New Zealand wines to more than 170 guests.
Sales resulting from the event have already been confirmed and further media coverage from magazine journalists is anticipated.
NZTDC will continue to work closely with New Zealand food and beverage importers to develop market opportunities.
NZTE Taiwan trade development executive, Jenny Lin, says the Taiwanese people appreciate good quality and like products known to be healthy and sourced from a safe environment.
