UNITED KINGDOM: The UK’s National Health Service (NHS) is calling for market solutions for innovative and ultra efficient lighting technology.
The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust has identified a requirement for smart lighting solutions for its “Future Ward” refurbishment project which aims to create a patient-centred environment.
The plan will include “highly efficient, smart lighting systems that can deliver economical carbon reductions while at the same time contributing to a pleasant and healthy environment for both patients and staff”.
The major ward reconfiguration and refurbishment programme will run over a seven-year period from 2009, with an estimated value of up to GBP2 million for lighting components.
The deadline for submissions is the 31st October 2008.
